Rhinebeck Jamboree 2008

 

MID-HUDSON RADIO CONTROL SOCIETY, INC.

Featuring:

200’ wide by 2000’ long grass runway

Six Flight Stations

Overall Requirements:

1)               Aircraft must be Scale models of aircraft built prior to December 31, 1939.

2)       Models of aircraft used in WWII combat situations are NOT eligible.

3)       All AMA rules and regulations apply unless otherwise noted.

4)       Maximum model weight is 55 pounds.

5)       All participants will be required to show an AMA membership card.

6)       Only ONE frequency pin per individual will be permitted on the Flight Line at any given time.

SAFETY:

1)                 All Pilots must sign an AMA Safety Declaration prior to the first flight.   If repairs are made on the field, the model must be fully safety inspected by the Field Safety Marshal prior to any further flight activity.

2)        Pilot MUST be accompanied by an observer/spotter.

3)        All aircraft must have been successfully flown prior to the Jamboree.

LANDING FEE:

A landing fee of $30 per entrant will be charged which includes a two day pass to all Aerodrome Museums and shows. Additional passes may be purchased from the MHRCS for AMA members assisting the entrant for $30 per weekend. Passes may be purchased from the Aerodrome for all non-AMA members for $20 per day for adults.

          Spirit of Rhinebeck          (all aircraft eligible, Flight not required)

Note: Winning aircraft may only qualify for awards for a maximum of two years.

Highlights

·       Saturday and Sunday - 8:00 AM - "Cole Palen Memorial'' mass rubber powered scale aircraft Launch.

·       Saturday and Sunday - 2:30 PM - Full scale Airshow featuring the original and replica aircraft of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.

·      Friday Afternoon- 1:00 PM to Dusk- The field will be open for Model Flying.  There will be no formal frequency control, i.e., no transmitter impound during this period. Flying, while not discouraged, is at your own risk.
